Previous College: Southern Connecticut '96

Now in his 12th season as an assistant coach with the USM men’s track & field program, Mike Drummey has provided invaluable guidance to the Huskies’ men and women’s pole vaulters.

One of the top pole vaulters in New England during his collegiate days at Southern Connecticut State University, Drummey won the NCAA Division Two indoor and outdoor pole vault championships in 1995, and was runner-up indoors and third outdoors in 1994. During his career, he earned All-American honors six times (three indoor, three outdoor). Drummey won the outdoor IC4A title and was third at the Penn Pelays in 1994. He still holds the SCSU school record indoors (17-8 1/2) and outdoors (17-6 1/2).

During his tenure with the USM men and women’s track & field programs, Drummey has coached three All-Americans (Wil Snyder, 2004; Melissa Bellemore, 2006; Bethany Dumas, 2011) and 40 Little East Conference champions.
