Senior Runs Fourth Fastest Time in the Preliminary Round
CANTON, N.Y. -- University of Southern Maine senior Peyton Dostie (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) has advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles during the first day of competition at the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships being held at St. Lawrence University.
Running in the first of three preliminary round heats, Dostie finished third with a time of 1 minute, 1.45 seconds. Her time was fourth fastest overall. Senior Rachael Kraske of George Fox University at 1:00.60 posted the quickest time of the three heat races in the first heat.
The three heat winners and the next six fastest times advance to the finals.
Dostie will race for the national title and All-America honors on Saturday. The women's 400-meter hurdles final is scheduled for 3:20 p.m.
