Huskies Head to Brown Invitational on Saturday
GORHAM, Maine -- The Little East Conference announced Monday afternoon that University of Southern Maine freshman Rachel Ingram (Winthrop, Maine) has been selected as the women's outdoor track and field Rookie Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 5.
The weekly honor is the first of Ingram's outdoor career. She was the LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week twice during the recently completed indoor campaign.
Competing at the ERAU (Embry-Riddle Aeronautics University) Spike's Classic, Ingram finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.67 meters (35-0 ¼). Ingram's mark met the qualifying standard for the New England Division III Championships, and moved her into sixth place on the Huskies all-time outdoor list for the triple jump. Ingram also competed in the long jump with a best jump of 4.75 meters (15-7), and ran a leg in the 4 x 100-meter relay (53.69).
