GORHAM, Maine -- For the fourth time this season, the Little East Conference announced that sophomore Peyton Dostie (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies women's outdoor track and field team has been named its Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending on May 12.
Dostie earned All-New England accolades in the 400-meter hurdles this past weekend at the New England Open Championships held at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. Dostie turned in a season-best time of one minute, 2.62 seconds to place sixth and move into 21st place in the latest NCAA Division III national rankings.
Dostie also set the Southern Maine school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.82 seconds in the trials. In addition to her record-setting performance in the100-meter hurdles, Dostie ran the anchor leg for the Huskies school record-setting 4x400-meter relay team, who finished in a time of 3:58.54.
Southern Maine will conclude the 2013 regular season on Thursday and Friday (May 16-17) at the ECAC Division III Championships being held at Springfield College.
