Dumas Runs Season Best Time in 400m Hurdles at NEICAAA Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Junior Bethany Dumas (Augusta, Maine/Cony) ran a season-best time in the 400-meter hurdles Friday during the first day of competition at the 2011 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Championships being held at Southern Connecticut State University.

Dumas posted the 12th quickest time in the 400m hurdles trials covering the distance in 1 minute, 5.52 seconds.  Her time bested her previous season-best time of 1:06.18 turned in at the Florida State Relays back in March.  Dumas missed advancing to Saturday's final by just over one second.  Dumas will compete in the pole vault on Saturday.

Competition resumes Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. with the women's heptathlon long jump.
