Gibeault Picked as LEC Field Athlete of the Week
GORHAM, Maine -- For the third straight week, and the fifth time this season, the Little East Conference has selected University of Southern Maine senior Molly Gibeault (Brooklyn, Conn./Woodstock Academy) as its women's indoor track and field Field Athlete of the Week. The conference office made the announcement Monday afternoon.
Competing at the annual New England Alliance and Little East Conference (LEC) Championships, Gibeault won the LEC pole vault title for the third straight year, and second straight Alliance title, clearing 3.55 meters (11-7 ¾).
Gibeault and her teammates swept the Alliance and LEC championships for the 17th consecutive year. The Huskies beat out 10 other teams to take the Alliance title with 152.50 points. Bridgewater State University was the runner-up scoring 129.50 points, followed by Westfield State University with 102, Rhode Island College with 79 and Keene State College with 70. The Alliance meet includes schools from the Little East Conference and the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
