LEWISTON, Maine –  Senior Dakota Donovan (Marblehead, Mass./Dana Hall)  and freshman Juiia Rosen (Springfield, Ill.) each had a goal and an assist to lead the Bates College Bobcats to a 4-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference women's soccer game Tuesday afternoon at Garcelon Field in Lewiston, Maine.

With the win, Bates improves to 2-1 on the season bouncing back from a 6-0 loss to Tufts over the weekend.  The loss stops a two-game win streak for Southern Maine, dropping its record to 2-3 overall.

Donovan put the Bobcats on the scoreboard midway through the first half netting her first goal of the season in the 22nd minute off of a feed from junior Leah Humes (Beaconsfield, Quebec/Phillips Andover)..The Bobcats would hold the 1-0 lead through the half. Donovan helped extend the Bobcats' lead to 2-0 in the second half as sophomore Ana Urbina (Bow, N.H.) volleyed in a cross from Donovan in the 67th minute.  The goal was the first of the season for Urbina.

Trailing 2-0, Southern Maine kept the Bobcats off of the scoreboard over the next 10 minutes, before Bates' Erin Shea (Marshfield, Mass.) made it 3-0 in the 77th minute off of a well-timed through ball from Rosen.  Rosen then quickly followed with her second intercollegiate goal chipping the goalkeeper in the 80th minute on an assist from Humes for the 4-0 final.

Facing 38 shots, USM junior goalkeeper Marissa Temple (Grafton, Mass.) made 12 saves, including nine in the first half.  Bates' senior goalkeeper Alyssa Morgosh (Carlsbad, Calif./The Bishop's School) did not make a save in the win with all four of the Huskies' shots off target.
