WATERVILLE, Maine  –  Senior captain CC Pelletier (West Newfield, Maine/Massabesic) shattered a scoreless draw late in regulation to lift the University of Southern Maine Huskies to a 1-0 win over the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners in the final game of the 2014 Terrier Classic Shosted by Thomas College in Waterville, Maine Saturday afternoon.

            The win is the second straight for the Huskies who even out their record at 2-2.  Maine Maritime stands at 2-2 with the loss.

            In a closely contested match, Southern Maine was able to pull out the win in the 84th minutes when Pelletier converted an assist from sophomore Analies Ross-Dyjak (Orono, Maine) for her first goal of the season.   It is Pelletier's first game-winning goal of her collegiate career.

            Junior goalkeeper Marissa Temple (Grafton, Mass.) was able to record her second consecutive shut out victory making two saves.  MMA goalkeeper senior Kelsie Hilton (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) also made a pair of saves. 

            Southern Maine travels to Bates College on Tuesday (4:00 p.m.) for its next contest.  Maine Maritime hosts UMaine Fort Kent on Thursday (4:00 p.m.).
