NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Corsairs women's soccer team defeated the visiting University of Southern Maine Huskies, 1-0, in a Little East Conference match at Cressy Field Saturday afternoon.

UMass Dartmouth improved to 10-2-2 and 4-1-0 with the victory, while Southern Maine dropped to 2-11-0 and 1-4-0 with the defeat.

Coming off their first conference loss of the season, the Corsairs bounced back to defeat the feisty Huskies.  After 87 minutes of scoreless action, junior defender Kathleen Landers (Danvers, Mass.) found the back of the net for the second time this season off a nice pass from junior forward Tori Pierce (Tiverton, R.I.).

With their 10th win of the season, the Corsairs reached double digits in victories for the first time since 2004

The Corsairs outshot the Huskies, 18-5.  Junior goalkeeper Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, Mass.) made four saves for UMD.  Senior Katie Cobb (Lewiston, ME/Lewiston HS) recorded four saves for Southern Maine.

The Huskies will host Bates College on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.).  The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Keene State College next Saturday.
