FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- The Framingham State University women's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to propel them to a 4-1 win Tuesday over the University of Southern Maine in non-conference women's soccer action at Maple Street Field.

With their second straight win, the Rams evened their season record at 7-7-0.  The Huskies dropped their fifth straight to slip to 4-12-0 on the year.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of play as junior Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, Mass.) found sophomore Megan Gangell (Lee, Mass.) on the wing and Gangell placed a shot into the top corner for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Just over five minutes into the second half, the Huskies struck for the game-tying goal.  Senior Heidi DeHaan (Lewiston, Maine) sent a long cross ahead to senior Chelsea Norton (Westbrook, Maine) and Norton placed a shot in the bottom corner knotting the game at 1-1 at the 50:38 mark.

The game would not remain tied for long as the Rams were awarded a penalty kick at 52:31 after a player was taken down in the box.  Sophomore Laura Gray (Chicopee, Mass.) converted the penalty kick for her forth tally of the season and what proved to be the game winner.

The Rams struck again five minutes later as Gray found Kiley behind the Huskies defense and Kiley dribbled free and scored her fifth goal of the year at 57:06.  Freshman Kristi Stewart (Lunenburg, Mass.) added an insurance goal in the 71st minute as she knocked home a rebound.

The Rams outshot the Huskies 21-9 in the game, including holding a 12-6 advantage in the second half.  FSU senior Jill Johnson (Mansfield, Mass.) made five saves and picked up her fourth win in goal.  Junior Kat Rothe (Leeds, Maine/Leavitt Area) and sophomore Katie Cobb (Lewiston, ME) split time in net for the Huskies with each making five saves.

The Huskies travel to Rhode Island College on Saturday (1:00 p.m.) for a Little East Conference match.  The Rams return to action on Saturday (10:00 a.m.) as they travel to Fitchburg State.
