Southern Maine Rolls Trinity 30-13
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.  – Senior Daniel Del Gallo (Gardiner, Maine) earned a 19-4 win by technical fall to put the University of Southern Maine Huskies up for good over the Trinity College (Conn.) Bantams en route to a 30-13 dual meet victory Sunday afternoon at Western New England University. 

With the win, Southern Maine improves its dual meet record to 12-4.  Trinity falls to 2-8 in dual meets.

Del Gallo's win over Trinity's Lukas Kaminski at 149 pounds improved his individual record to an undefeated 39-0 and put the Huskies ahead 11-7 in the match.  Senior CJ Luth (Milford, Conn./Foran) followed Del Gallo with a win by fall, putting John Reilly to the mat in 4:44 for a 17-7 USM lead. After dropping a decision at 165 pounds, USM claimed victories in the next two weight classes to secured a 26-10 lead.  Freshman Justin Stacy (Dover, N.H./Marshwood) earned a 6-2 decision over Stephen Cerrone at 174 pounds, and fellow rookie Kolby Smith (Springfield, Mass.) pinned Devon deFilippi in 6:26 at 184 pounds.  Sophomore Mike Risti (Limerick, Maine/Massabesic) claimed the final points for the Huskies at 285 pounds, earning a 10-1 major decision over Matthew Farraro for the 30-13 final.

Southern Maine hosts Johnson and Wales University on Saturday (1:00 p.m.).  The Huskies will be honoring the senior student-athletes on their team prior to the contest: Steven Corio (Manville, R.I./Lincoln), Dan Del Gallo, Luth, and Aaron Weiss (East Machias, Maine/St. Paul's School).
